1. Overview

 

KAIRO is an AI-powered wellbeing application. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what information is collected, where it is stored, and how it is used. If you have questions, contact us at support@kairolife.ai.

The short version: Almost all of your data lives only on your device. The only time data leaves your device is when you use the AI Coach or request a wellness plan — those requests are processed by OpenAI and are not stored on KAIRO servers.
 

 

2. Information We Collect

 

Wellbeing check-in data: When you complete a daily check-in, KAIRO records your mood score, energy level, sleep quality, available time, and selected goals (e.g., "improve sleep", "reduce stress"). This data is stored locally on your device.

AI Coach conversations: When you chat with the AI Coach, your messages and conversation history are stored locally on your device. When you send a message, the conversation is transmitted to our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate a response. See Section 4 for full details.

Wellness plan data: After a check-in, your responses are sent to OpenAI to generate a personalised daily wellness plan. The generated plan and your activity completion progress are stored locally on your device.

App preferences: Your settings choices (daily reminders toggle, sound effects toggle) are stored locally on your device.

No account required. KAIRO does not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, password, or any other identifying information.

No analytics or tracking. KAIRO does not use any analytics SDKs, advertising networks, crash reporting services, or tracking pixels.

 


3. HOW YOUR DATA IS STORED

 

All personal data — your check-in history, wellness plans, AI Coach conversations, pillar scores, and app preferences — is stored exclusively on your device using on-device local storage (AsyncStorage).

KAIRO does not operate a user database. We do not have servers that hold your personal data. Your data does not leave your device except as described in Section 4.

 


4. AI PROCESSING (OPENAI)

 

KAIRO's AI Coach and wellness plan generation are powered by OpenAI's API.

What is sent to OpenAI:

When generating a wellness plan: your check-in scores (mood, energy, sleep quality), available time, and selected goals for the day.

When using the AI Coach: your chat messages and recent conversation history (up to the last 100 messages in an active session) to maintain conversational context.

How it is processed:

Data is transmitted to OpenAI's servers over an encrypted HTTPS connection solely to generate a response.

KAIRO does not store this data on its own servers before or after it is sent.

OpenAI processes this data under OpenAI's Privacy Policy.

What is not sent:

Your full check-in history or historical plans are not sent in bulk.

Your device identifiers, name, or any other personal information are not included in AI requests.


 

5. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

 

We use information only to:

Generate your personalised daily wellness plan based on your check-in responses

Provide contextually relevant responses from your AI wellness coach

Display your progress across the 8 wellbeing pillars within the app

Remember your app preferences between sessions

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with any third party except OpenAI for AI processing as described in Section 4.


 

6. Data SECURITY

 

Data stored on your device is subject to your device's own security protections (screen lock, device encryption). AI requests are transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections to OpenAI.

Because KAIRO does not maintain a server-side database of your personal data, there is no KAIRO-operated server that could experience a data breach affecting your wellness history, plans, or conversations.

 

 

7. YOUR CHOICES & DATA DELETION

 

You have full control over your data. All deletion takes effect immediately and is irreversible.

Delete My Data (in-app): Available in Settings → Security & Privacy → Delete My Data. This permanently removes all check-in history, wellness plans, pillar scores, and AI Coach conversation history from your device. Your app preferences are retained.

Reset App (in-app): Available in Settings → Security & Privacy → Reset App / First Launch. This permanently removes all data from your device, including preferences, and returns the app to its first-launch state.

Uninstall: Uninstalling the KAIRO app from your device removes all locally stored data.

Request via email: You may also contact us at support@kairolife.ai to request data deletion, though because data is stored on-device, in-app deletion is the most immediate and complete method.

 

 

8. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

 

The only third-party service that receives any data from KAIRO is OpenAI, and only for the purpose of AI response generation as described in Section 4.

KAIRO does not integrate any of the following: analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, etc.), advertising networks, social media SDKs, crash/error reporting services (Sentry, Crashlytics, etc.), or identity/authentication providers.
 

 

9. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY​​​​​​​

 

KAIRO is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the app and you have concerns, please contact us at support@kairolife.ai.
 

 

10. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS​​​​​​​

 

KAIRO is based in the United States. When you use the AI Coach or request a wellness plan, your check-in data and messages are transmitted to OpenAI, whose servers are located in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, this means your data is transferred internationally for AI processing purposes. By using these features, you consent to this transfer. OpenAI's data handling is governed by OpenAI's Privacy Policy.




11. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY​​​​​​​​​​

 

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
